Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School

St. John’s United Church of Christ invites all children to go to the edge this summer for Vacation Bible School. Camp E.D.G.E.: Experience + Discover God Everywhere is an extreme adventure camp taking kids on exciting Bible treks to experience and discover God everywhere, every day.

At Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School, kids go on an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition to an Extreme Adventure Camp that teaches them their strength and might come from God.

Through rockin' new music, extreme sports video, cool, challenging crafts, and larger-than-life games, kids will learn how to live on the E.D.G.E. - Experiencing and Discovering God Everywhere!

The fun begins Monday July 13^th and ends Friday July 17^th from 6 pm to 8:15 pm.

VBS is for children age 3 to 3rd grade (finishing). We will have dinner at 5:30 pm (registration is required).

Help Needed for Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School

We are still in need of assistance before, during, and after VBS.

Before VBS:

· Pray for VBS staff and students

· Distribute publicity

· Make phone calls

· Help with preregistration

· Prepare craft supplies

· Assist with donation organization

· Create/Prepare decorations on Sunday June 14th after 9:30 service

· Create/Prepare decorations on Sunday June 28th after 9:30 service

During VBS:

· Be a group leader (lead children to activity centers)

· Assist activity center leader (craft, recreation/game, mission, snack)

· Help with dinner (Monday to Thursday 5 – 6:30 pm)

· Help with dinner (Friday 6 – 8:30 pm)

· Provide transportation

· Be a registrar

· Greet participants

· Assist with Daily Newsletter

· Take photos

· Pray for the children

· Set up rooms each day

After VBS:

· Take down decorations & clean-up (Thursday July 16)

· Take down decorations & clean-up (Friday July 17)

· Send follow-up postcards

· Return donated items

· Send thank-you cards

There will be a meeting for all volunteers after the 9:30am service on both Sunday June 14^th and Sunday June 28^th. After the meeting, we will be working on the decorations. Bring your lunch or we will order lunch so bring money. If you are volunteering but unable to attend either of these meetings, please inform Mary Louise Miller.
