We Extend an Invitation . . .

Worship at St. Johns is formal as well as informal; liturgical and yet flows freely. Our worship reaches back into the cherished traditions of the whole Church and also speaks the language of the contemporary heart. Our worship offers praise to the Triune God and shapes our being as pilgrims on our journey of faith.

Join us for worship each Sunday at 8:30am – a non-music Holy Communion service held in Leiby Chapel. This service is about ½ hour in length. The 10:45am Service of the Word is offered in the Sanctuary and lasts about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Our 6pm Thursday Holy Communion is ½ hour in length. And our First Sunday service specifically designed with children and their families also is about ½ hour with communion. All baptized persons are welcome at the communion Table here at St. John’s.

Thursday Evening Holy Communion . . .

Each Thursday evening Holy Communion is celebrated during a ½ hour long service of worship held in Leiby Parlor. This service includes preaching and the hearing of Scripture as well as the reception of the Sacrament. Our Thursday evening Eucharist begins at 6pm. Both the front door of the church and the lower level door are open for the convenience of the worshipper.

This additional worship opportunity is designed to allow members of the parish and community to worship as a faith community when they are not home on a Sunday due to vacations or their work schedules. At this time, van transportation is not available for the Thursday service.

Sunday Church School . . .

Church school is offered weekly each Sunday beginning at 9:30am except on First Sundays. Church school begins at 10am following the First Sunday worship each First Sunday of the month.

Church school for children, youth and adults has begun for the 2009-2010 year. Children come together each week for singing, Bible Study and activity. This newly formed structure which is taught by adults on a rotating basis, allows the children to prepare for singing during the 10:45am service more adequately. Youth in our confirmation ministry have the opportunity to learn in a reflective way on a Sunday which enhances their confirmation experience. Our Sunday adult group uses the Seasons of the Spirit curricula and examines the lectionary texts for the day.

ADULT WEEKDAY EDUCATION . . .

Three separate groups meet once per month: a reading group; a healing and prayer ministry group and a faith study group. Please check the parish newsletter for the specific date and time plus what it is that the groups are reading for those three special life transforming ministries. You can access the newsletter by liking to ‘what’s news’ and you will see the monthly St. John’s newsletter posted there.

Van Transportation . . .

Sunday van handicapped van transportation is available by calling the church at 610 933-5311. Please call the church no later than 7am on the Sunday you desire van transportation.
