St. John's United Church of
Christ is in mission with the Wissahickon Hospice.
The goal of Hospice is to enhance
the quality of life and provide optimal pain and symptom control
for terminally ill patients. An interdisciplinary team including
specialized hospice staff nurses and trained volunteers provide
the patient and family with practical help and emotional support.
A unique feature of this program is its focus on the patient and
family as a single unit. The Hospice Program is Medicare and Blue
Cross certified, with many other insurance companies also
providing coverage.
